how to i process materials?
Might have a bug with the refinery capacity lol. Got 16000 ceramic when it blew.

That's a new one. I'll look into it not sure why that would happen.
under pressure (dun dun dun dududun dun)
nice clean game, I like the idea behind the mechanics! balance-wise, it's a bit weird-
[strategy/balance discussion ahead]
the mechanics are neat overall, but there seems to be no encouragement for long runs that actually use money to buy upgrades.
ceramic increases logarithmically with funds and with the square root of pressure.
this means just a bit of money already yields plenty of ceramic: making just a few hundred $ and then prestiging asap gives ceramic very fast, letting you buy the Distillation Column upgrades, and since each upgrade lets you go into higher pressure before blowing up, you'll get more ceramic each time.
overall there is a bit of a balance issue as raw products serve only one purpose: making money, which, due to the strategy above, doesn't help to progress in the game much. but I believe with some rebalancing, a few more upgrades and better tying the money/production/processing part to the overarching progress and prestige parts of the game, it could be really fun!
Hey thank you for the lengthy review! There is certainly a lot of balance issues, partially due to the time constraints. I hope to come back to the game once the review period is over to update it. Hopefully to add some in game tutorials, rebalancing, new resources, etc.
why developer supload games like this with no tutorial just baffelsme
Its a jam game.
Really cool game. I'm not too sure what's going on though. Definitely needs some sort of tutorial.
Yeah that has been the recurring comment so far. Thank you for trying I will be adding one as soon as the jam voting window ends in a week.
There is a lot of information that would be nice to have that is just not displayed in this game eg. the fact that you need to blow up your refinery to be able to spend money, the lower bounds for processing materials, or any explanation at all about how the game works.
Also for some reason i am not able to sell my plastic (might be another lower bound issue, but i already have 100 kg of it so probably not)
That being said, i did have a fun time with the game once i understood how it worked.
Thanks for trying and I will definitely make it more understandable once the Jam has completed with some more updates. I will also look into the plastic issue.
It could use descriptions on the achievements for what unlocks what. You can't spend any money unless you blow up the refinery first, which seems... bleh, especially since that's not a given (I thought it was one of the first two money achievements to open the shop). Also, Kelvin isn't expressed in degrees, because it's absolute :P
Processing asphalt also seemed to not work, I had over 10kg each of naphtha and coke, but couldn't process it, and didn't feel like spending even more time fooling around trying to figure it out
The Achievements are just a progression thing they unlock nothing. That's actually something I didn't know about kelvin. Very odd It is specifically a minimum of 20kg of Coke and 30 Liters of Naptha. I will look into it though shortly. Appreciate you trying it out :)
Huh, you might have to look over things, as I literally didn't have the shop until the first time I imploded!
I didn't know the minimum was higher, there was just a lack of documentation about it!
And yeah, the reasoning is that Kelvin is an absolute unit, rather than Celcius which has an arbitrary 0
Yeah there is a lack of documentation in general which I will sort out as soon as the jam ended.
And also the Research & Development Area doesn't show up till you collapse but I will most likely modify that after the Jam's completion
this game is really cool but i have no clue whats going on
Thanks for trying!
